The City of Grants Pass, through the City Council Audit Committee, engaged Sjoberg Evashenk Consulting, Inc. to conduct a performance audit of the City’s economic development and tourism programs. The primary objective of this audit is to determine whether the City’s economic development and tourism programs are managed efficiently and whether the City is receiving the highest return on its limited economic development and tourism resources. We found the City has designed and implemented programs to promote local business and tourism, and it has observed generally positive trends in recent years, though the City is unable to evaluate its return on investment because it does not adequately track its performance.
