The California Water Resources Control Board (Board) engaged Sjoberg Evashenk Consulting, Inc. to conduct a performance audit of the Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund (Fund) program’s administration. We found that while fund resources have grown considerably over the last decade and some process enhancements implemented to improve financial management of the Fund, though additional financial management improvements needed, such as providing Fund management with sufficient financial information to adequately and plan program resources and activities.
